Tabeguache and Shavano

After several happy days of coming home to chips and salsa, and listening to the Brothers Hirschl talk of their exploits at that day’s crag, it was finally time for the Brothers to depart.  I came home as usual in the bright evening sun, packed my bag as Noah washed dishes and Andy swept, and followed them on the first part of their drive North out of the San Luis Valley.   We would make a stop in the Sawatch Range, and climb a couple of mountains.

We had one night in front of a campfire, under a clear, cold sky.  The next morning was clear as well, and the afternoon was cold and grey and drizzly.  The mountains had been just big enough for a fine day.  Shavano, Tabeguache, and Jones.

Thanks, gentlemen!
